2 mesmers = cya monks.
This is for tombs, and most likely to be highly coordinated.
Mesmer #1
16dom
10 + 1 fast cast (or illusion)
8 + 1 Illusion (or fast cast)
Rest in insp
Powerblock {E}
Power Spike
Power Leak
Power Drain
Wastrels
Arcane Mimicry
Blackout/Diversion
Rez Sig
Mesmer #2
16 dom
10 + 1 illusion
8 + 1 fast cast
Rest in Insp
Migraine {E}
Power Spike
Power Leak
Power Drain
Wastrels
Arcane Mimicry
Blackout/Diversion
Rez Sig
Basic plan is to arcane mimicry each other, mes #1 chooses a monk, mes #2 chooses a monk, and the rest of your team attacks (if there is one) the remaining one.
Wastrels, Migraine, Wastrels is the basic plan. Incase of hex breaker, dab wastrels on a couple of times (you should realize it the first time), then hit them with a migraine + wastrels to cover. Then powerblock when they use orison, word, etc. So with two monks down, that leaves the third one which your team should be pummeling anyways. once powerblock wears off on a monk, stick wastrels (hex breaker), or migraine on them, then precede to use power spike, then drain, then leak. (they will try to heal the spike, so you drain for some energy, then leak when they try again). Once those skills are recharing, either run up and blackout or use diversion to prevent even more casting.

You're going to have energy problems.

Mesmers can shut down monks?! Thanks for the news.
Also, your strategy of "each take one monk and then everyone attack the other" is about as elementary as it comes. I know you were trying to be helpful, but if I made a post saying that the sky is blue, its not going to be much use.
Secondly, half the skills you use in those builds are downright awful. Wastrels Worry? Are you kidding me? MIGRAINE! POWERBLOCK??! No energy management?! No Panic?!! Sorry, these builds are terrible.

One mesmer can shutdown two monks, using a combination of diversion and energy denial. One shutdown mesmer is all you ever need, unless you're grouped with a bad mesmer.
I have been on multiple mesmer teams, but that was always with each mesmer countering a different sort of player.

I find it funny that I get 3 replies in seconds when I post a bad build, but get none on a good one. lawlz.
I know one mes can shutdown two monks, but because of my lazy personality, I would rather just sit there and watch them die isntead of constantly spamming diversion or using e-denial tactics. Arcane conundrum could be used instead of migraine, and powerblock is not so bad. So I was trying to make a build revolving around arcane mimicry, because it is almost never used. You could AM the second mes ( or anyone) running echo, then echo powerblock ftw.
This is by far not a tested build. And truly the only one I haven't really put much thought into, because I like running powerblock for tombs on my sd mesmer, I like running migraine in 4v4. so I thought to use them in conjuction.

Problem with arcane mimicry is, it works for 20s. then it sits on your skillbar taking up space for a whole minute.
That, and your build is very energy-intensive, with power drain as your only energy management. Power drain is great, but by itself (and with so little points in insp.) is not nearly enough to keep your energy up.
For a sudden burst of shutdown, that build will take out monks. In the long run, you're gonna end up waiting for your energy to regen, firing off the occasional diversion.

Wastrel's Worry is one bad skill...
And it seems just two more traditional Mesmer's coordinating so as to not overlap would have much more effect.

Btw, wastrels is used as a cover hex because of the fast casting times + fast cooldown. ITs not there for damage.

When describing your "basic plan" you said
Quote:
wastrels, migraine, wastrels
|
. You can see where people got the idea that your plan revolved around using bad skills, rather than Wastrels as a "cover hex".

Well:
Monk see 2 Mesmer=Monk just use spell breaker/hex beaker and low casting time skills=have fun with ur blocks leaks etc.
Sure thats quit unreal that the monk you target got spellbreaker etc., but also its unreal to creat 2 chars that can shutdown 1 Its just like:
My AxE WaRrIor PwN eVeRy Sword nOob !!!111oneone!
Well, as it sayed you will have energy problems. But maybe you can ask a bip necro to fill up ur mana to shutdown that monk
